Over the June long weekend we set about creating some social media material with the kids for our Facebook page as a bit of fun.
Apart from getting to introduce them to more classic Rock N Roll… it also gave us the chance to introduce them to some classic movies.
After much internal bickering – It was decided that we could re-enact the opening scene of Oklahoma and the attached is the result!! A lot of fun was had in the making of this with the kids. Given we were making it simply off a phone we had a few obstacles to overcome. We also wanted to do the whole scene in one take vs having any editing.
Some of the many miss haps –
Kids talking and laughing in the background
Mobile phones receiving notifications and text messages which interrupted the background music that we were streaming
The horse in one take decided to relieve itself – a number 2. And then later relieve itself again – a number 1 (yes they can and often do these at separate times).
Given the size difference the horse also tried to see how competent the rider was once or twice s well by not doing as it was told and young Samuel (nephew)… held him up really well.
This is the end result – We’ve left this completely unedited and bare as we thoroughly enjoyed it as it was (fingers, laughing and all sorts in shot and background)…. we hope you do as well!!
