We’ve had a heap of requests for new T-shirts, however, until more recently have simply not been able to find a supplier we were happy with. In our dealings with sourcing a supplier we tried overseas to manage costs, however, the sample quality just wasn’t good enough. So it quite literally came down to “what would we be happy to wear?”. Everyone has that favourite T-shirt that has worn well over the years and the character just gets better with age (much like our fans). It sits well, feels comfortable, gets acknowledged by friends and this is what we wanted to find.
As luck had it, we stumbled across an Australian maker of Retro T-Shirts who shares our love of nostalgia and more importantly, a love of Rock N Roll! Last Drinks Inc. Last Drinks Inc just get it! They’ve recreated a range of T-shirts from the days when Rock ruled the club scene and will be developing plenty more around Rock N Roll clubs, bands and much more in the coming months. Their T-shirts are yet another great reminder of the time when bands and artists didn’t even have demo tapes to shop themselves with… to become known you had to gig and to get ongoing gigs bands auditioned by playing at a club for one set, early in the night. These were the times when fans were far more involved in the discovery of great new acts and could proudly say “I heard them play that set at XXX years back before that hit broke all record sales!”
Not only were the clubs great for the discovery of new acts – but they also played heaps of BIG acts as well. These are the memories being brought back by Last Drinks Inc.
Clubs like: Chequers, The Pink Pussycat, The Bondi Lifesaver….
